More than once.\u201d<br \/>\nMy stomach tightened.<br \/>\nI crouched beside him in the dark hallway.<br \/>\n\u201cTell me exactly what you saw. Everything. You\u2019re not in trouble.\u201d<br \/>\nTyler glanced nervously at Grandma\u2019s bedroom door.<br \/>\n\u201cThe first time was when you went to the grocery store. Uncle Jason told Grandma it was time for her medicine. I thought it was you, but then I saw him coming upstairs.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cAt what time?\u201d<br \/>\nTyler thought for a moment.<br \/>\n\u201cReally late. My accounts. away from the door.<br \/>\nI heard him running downstairs.<br \/>\nA door slammed.<br \/>\nBy the time officers arrived minutes later, Jason was gone.<br \/>\nBut he had left something behind.<br \/>\nOne officer found it on the stairs.<br \/>\nA small brown bottle.<br \/>\nNo label.<br \/>\nExactly like the one Tyler had described.<br \/>\nThe officer sealed it inside an evidence bag.<br \/>\nThen another officer came upstairs carrying something else.<br \/>\n\u201cMa\u2019am,\u201d he said, \u201cwe found this near the back door.\u201d<br \/>\nIt was a key.<br \/>\nMy house key.<br worst of it.<br \/>\nIt wasn\u2019t.<br \/>\nAt 7:36 that morning, Mom\u2019s cardiologist called after I explained everything.<br \/>\nHe told me to bring her to the hospital immediately.<br \/>\nBlood tests were ordered.<br \/>\nHours later, a doctor entered the room holding the results.<br \/>\nHis expression made my stomach twist.<br \/>\n\u201cRebecca,\u201d he said carefully,
